Divisional Tournament
Horizon Athletics will have seasonal divisional tournaments to determine league championships and zone representation
League championship awards will be given out at the divisional tournaments
Divisional tournament structure will be determined by the number of teams entered per league
Divisional hosts determined by final standings (highest seed gets first choice of hosting or not)

Total wins to determine playoff seeding
Round Robin Ties Broken by
the team having the best ratio of won/lost games, considering only games between the tied teams, will be ranked higher
the team having the best ratio of won/lost games, considering all matches of the round, will be ranked higher
the team having the best ratio of points for/against, considering only games between the tied teams, will be ranked higher
the team having the best ratio of points for/against, considering all matches of the round, will be ranked higher
Playoffs are Best of 3, 2 games to 25, cap at 27. If necessary, 3rd game to 15, no cap
5 teams or less
4th and 5th must face off before the divisional tournament for a “play in” game with the winner qualifying for divisionals and the loser eliminated.
If this game absolutely cannot be scheduled due to no available dates for the game to be played, then the 5th place team is eliminated.

Losers play for 3rd (only if time permits)
Winners play for the championship
6 or 7 teams
6th and 7th must face off before the divisional tournament for a “play in” game with the winner qualifying for divisionals and the loser eliminated.
If this game absolutely cannot be scheduled due to no available dates for the game to be played, then the 7th place team is eliminated.

Top 2 teams from each pool advance to playoffs

8 or more teams
8th and 9th must face off before the divisional tournament for a “play in” game with the winner qualifying for divisionals and the loser eliminated.
If this game absolutely cannot be scheduled due to no available dates for the game to be played, then the 9th place team is eliminated.
Teams finishing 10th or lower are automatically eliminated.
If there are enough eliminated teams (ex: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th can gather together for their own mini tournament)

Top 4 teams advance to an “A” side final in each tier

Losers play for 3rd

Hosted by highest seed
Hosts are encouraged to find the best refs possible
Remaining teams (up to the next highest 4) advance to a “B” side final for each tier

Tier 2 - $20 per game for each official
Tier 1 - $25 per game for each official

All member schools can enter

1 Mixed Doubles
Wildcards may be issued in the event that total entries are low
Athletes may only enter in ONE category (ex: a girls singles player can NOT also play mixed doubles)
Entries will be placed in Pools
Top 2 from each pool advance to playoffs

Track & Field
All member schools can enter 2 athletes per event
Athletes may enter no more than 4 events
max of 3 track or 3 field
cannot participate in all 4 track or all 4 field
schools are to provide 1 adult worker per every 10 participants

Zone Representation
Schools wishing to participate in ASAA Jr.High zones must participate a Horizon Tier 1 league
Schools wishing to participate an ASAA Jr. High Zones must declare their desire to do so to the Zone by following the South Zone’s protocol
Zone representatives for Horizon will be determined at our divisional tournaments
School size (1J,2J,3J,4J) as set out at the zone level will be followed for Horizon’s representation
Horizon Athletic coordinator will communicate Horizon’s zone representatives to the South Zone coordinator
