Disciplinary Action

  1. When the actions of a team or coaches are such that a formal complaint is to be made, the complainant will adhere to the following process:

    1. Step 1: Complaint is directed to the administration of the school involved. Should the matter not be resolved to the satisfaction of the complainant then:

    2. Step 2: Complaint will be submitted to the Horizon Athletic Coordinator, which will be empowered at this level to issue a warning or to reject the complaint. Should the matter not be resolved satisfactorily then:

    3. Step 3: The Horizon Athletic Coordinator and league executive may disqualify a coach or player from further participation for that season or portion thereof

  2. The Executive may hear any appeals of decisions made

  3. A $50 Performance Bond may be paid by all member schools. The performance bond is to ensure schools do their best to ensure that the Horizon Athletics activities function in a smooth and efficient manner

    1. Schools may forfeit all or part of the performance bond if it is determined that they have:

      1. Not submitted games results on time

      2. Players and/or coached have acted in a manner contrary to the Code of Conduct

      3. Failed to play required games

      4. Other instances as they arise and deemed appropriate by the athletic coordinator

  4. A $50 penalty may be paid by any member school who's late team declaration causes the league schedule to have to be redone. This payment is made directly to the league coordinator.
