MD 8th Grade Theatre 

In semester 2 of Ms. V's Theatre 8 class, we learned the ins and outs of hand to hand stage combat! We learned about safe distance, scene partner communication, making realistic sounds, and practiced several different moves. We even had a few classes with a special guest teacher- a professional stunt man and fight choreographer! 

As a final project, we split into pairs, chose scenes from movies, television, or theatre and choreographed our own fight sequences for those scenes. We then, rehearsed, rehearsed, and rehearsed some more. We presented our Stage Combat Collection during the school day to a very enthusiastic audience of our peers on June 1st, 2022 in the black box theatre.

In semester 1, 8th grade Theatre Games worked hard to learn the ins and outs of improvisational comedy. 

Saying yes, accepting suggestions, and learning to be present in the scene were important milestones.
