MD Theatre 6

Ms. VanHentenryck

This Trimester in Theatre 6  we studied Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and worked on acting techniques that can help bring the text alive. After some very silly and hilarious Mechanicals rehearsals, each student chose a monologue from the play, memorized their lines, rehearsed with peers, and performed for the class.

Please enjoy our final Midsummer's Monologues!

6th Grade Dance/Theatre studied the stock characters featured in Commedia D'ell Arte performances from the Italian Renaissance. We looked at the traditional masks that Commedia actors would wear and we tasked ourselves with using found objects in our homes to create our own Commedia masks. After we had our masks, we rehearsed and are happy to present to you our final Commedia play titled "La Lettera D'Amore" or "The Love Letter".
