Keith McDonald

I am a Lethbridge resident for the past 37yrs, but I have lived my entire life in Southern Alberta. I grew up in Taber, graduated high school from St. Mary’s high school in Taber and then completed a Management Degree at the University of Lethbridge in 1986. I come from a strong Catholic background, due to my parents, Ken and Jo McDonald. I was raised with 8 brothers and sisters. I have already raised 2 children in the Catholic education school system and currently my wife has two children at Catholic Central High School and St Francis Junior High. While in Taber, I worked at the family automotive business; McDonald Chevrolet Olds Buick Ltd. Currently, I am working at Hollis Wealth, a Division of Industrial Alliance.

I believe in the Catholic education system and that kids should be promoted first and foremost. Education, sports, school activities with religion should be promoted in development years. I believe children should be more taught on how to promote Catholic values beyond their schooling years.

I was the one that started the pancake breakfasts after mass at all catholic churches in Lethbridge. At the time I was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, at St Martha’s (#9280). I though of idea and brought forth the idea. I realized that it could contribute a bit of money, but more importantly it aloud the congregation to meet other members of the church with the priest. I remember the days of racing to get out the church after mass, as the priest goes back to greet people. I think this type of thinking will help me be a good trustee.

I can bring forth new ideas to the Holy Spirit school board. I think I have a different and unique perspective that others do not have. With a strong family name and background, four kids who have been in the catholic system and 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus member, I think I can bring a lot to this elected position.

Most influential teacher/educator was Blair Wagner, retired ex principal of St. Mary’s in Taber, AB. Taught me the value of education, math, religion, Christian values and to support the community.

I can give new and different perspective on the board of the Holy Spirit division.
