Why do you want to serve as a Trustee for Holy Spirit Catholic Schools?

My reasons for running for Holy Spirit Trustee center on three areas:

  • To advocate on behalf of all students.
  • To support and defend the values of a Catholic based education.
  • And to provide leadership and direction on policies that enhance teacher excellence and student achievement.

In your opinion, what's the most important issue facing Catholic education today?

One of the biggest issues I see facing Catholic education today is, how do educators keep up with the rapid pace of change in society. How do they effectively apply Catholic values and traditions in a world of social media, advancing technologies and changes in social behaviors.

Who was your most influential teacher/educator and why?

I’ve had many teachers in my life who’ve influenced me, but the greatest, was my very first teacher, my late father, Joe.

He used to say to all seven of us kids, “…are you going to sit around and complain all day…or are you going to get up and do something about it!”

Good words, great message…that’s why I’m running for Holy Spirit Trustee.

The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division is pleased to provide this forum, giving Trustee Candidates and Acclaimed Trustees an opportunity to share their thoughts with the community. However, each candidates' views are their own and are not necessarily shared by the division.
