Bryan Kranzler
Brief Biography:
Born and raised in Champion, Alberta. I moved to Lethbridge at the age of 18. I met my wife, Roz, in Lethbridge and we have been married for 44 years. We have two children, Krystal and Kevin plus four grandchildren. The grandchildren, two boys and two girls, all attend St. Teresa of Calcutta.
In the later part of my career, I spent 15 years as Maintenance Supervisor for both Lethbridge Catholic School District and Palliser Regional Schools. It was during this time that I decided I would like to give back to the schools and become a trustee. I retired for a couple of years and then decided to run in the election. I have been a trustee for the past 2 terms (7 years).
Why do you want to serve as a Trustee for Holy Spirit Catholic Schools?
I wish to give back to our community plus I want to be there for the students of our schools. I want to ensure that our students of today receive the best possible education there is to offer. The world needs responsible and respectful people and a graduate of Catholic Education System will carry this out into the world once they graduate.
In your opinion, what's the most important issue facing Catholic education today?
The threat to Catholic Education is a very important issue. There are forces out there that will do whatever it takes to see the demise of Catholic Education. We need a strong voice to counter this threat. We must not let our guard down as once we become complacent the greater chance there is to lose catholic Education.
Who was your most influential teacher/educator and why?
He was never my teacher but I had the opportunity to work under Mr. Ralph Himsl. He was a teacher before he became Superintendent of the Lethbridge Catholic School System. The years that I worked with Mr. Himsl taught me how to treat everyone as equals plus take time for them. In essence he taught me how to be a Catholic in the biggest sense. AS I look back, I guess I can honestly say that yes he was my most influential teacher.
