Music Composition and Technology is a course open to students in grade 11 and 12. You do not need to be enrolled in a music course to take this course, however musical knowledge will be very helpful. In this course, you will learn how to compose music of all different genres such as contemporary, modern r&b, film scores, and lots more! You will also learn lots of music history, specifically towards musical genres and the history of technology in music. You will also get a chance to learn how to write for almost every musical instrument used in the common era and when to use them!

The second half of this course is based on one of the major careers in the music industry which is live and studio music production. Here, students will learn the basic function and setups for both live and studio sessions. Students will also learn how to do basic mixing for both types of settings. This is a very hands on course and students will get to work with all of the equipment our music program has to offer.
