NHD
WHAT IS NATIONAL HISTORY DAY?
National History Day (NHD) is a program created to promote the study of history. Through NHD students develop skills of researching, communication, and the appreciation of history. National History Day also allows for the community to work with students and the school.
This year each student will explore the 2021-22 Theme: Debate & Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences.' Based on the theme, students will develop a project in one of five categories: historical papers, exhibits, performances, web pages or documentaries. Students are allowed to work individually or in groups of two to four. The sizes of the groups are based on the category they decide to participate in. See your teacher for group limitations.
Once the projects are completed students will participate in a judging process where they compete against others in the same category. These students will first participate in a local competition at our school. From there they can advance to regional, state and national competitions.
