To ensure the safety of all students and staff, Smith-Barnes will be following a new visitor policy. Henry County Schools and Smith-Barnes Elementary are taking extraordinary measures to keep the students and the staff of our school safe due to COVID-19. We value parent engagement; however, during these unprecedented times, we must be responsive and enact responsible safety measures. As part of these measures, we are limiting visitor access to our campus during this healthcare crisis. These procedures will be followed:
Visitors to the campus must make an appointment.
When a visitor enters the campus with an appointment, masks are required.
All visitors to campus must be symptom free and not showing signs of a viral illness. Visitors must not have been exposed to COVID-19 or have anyone in their household with or showing symptoms of COVID-19.
Parent volunteers in the school building are not being accepted at this time. If you would like to volunteer in the future, contact Mrs. Nilda Allen at nilda.allen@henry.k12.ga.us for information or go to the parent volunteer link on the SBE website.
Parent/Teacher Conferences and Parent/Administrator Conferences will take place virtually.
504 and IEP meetings will take place virtually.
Parents will need to make sure that their children have lunches, book bags, technology (Chromebook and IPads), and other items they might need during the day. There will be no drop off of these items once a student has entered the building.
Returning to on-campus learning, parents will not be able to enter the building or walk students to classrooms.
