All teachers will be at their door ready to supervise and receive students in the hallway with a mask on. Additional staff members will be on duty throughout the building during arrival and dismissal time. Signage will be posted to direct students on movement procedures.
7:05 Morning Bus Arrival
For arrival entrance movement logistics, one bus will unload at a time. Students will enter through the doors by the bus ramp.
Upon entry to the building, traffic will flow on the right side of the hallway. Slagle, Shepard, and O’Neal students will proceed straight on Hallway 4. All other students will proceed down hallway 1. 5th grade will proceed to hallway 2.
Responsible distancing will be reviewed and enforced. Signage will be posted. Supervision by staff will ensure responsible distancing as students proceed to classrooms. All teachers will be at their door by 7:10 ready to supervise and receive students in the hallway with a mask on.
A right side of the hall policy will be followed both coming and going from any destination.
Non-Homeroom teachers and staff on duty will need to be in the hallway or assigned area at 7:05 am.
All staff will be expected to be in classrooms by 7:05 ready to receive students in classrooms at 7:10.
Students will be released from the bus arrival areas to homerooms.
7:05 - 7:45 Car Riders Arrival
Front doors will be open for car and day care van riders from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM daily.
They will unload in the front of the building.
Car Riders will be sent to the bus rider lane doors for entry. Movement will be managed by staff using the school protocol.
Only students will be allowed into the school building. Parents should not exit their vehicle. No one dropping off should exit their vehicle during morning arrival.
Staff will be on duty outside to support students and parents.
Restroom times will be scheduled and staggered during arrival and dismissal.
7:05-7:30 Breakfast:
To control for various movement logistics, the cafeteria staff will distribute breakfast to homeroom classes. A barcode form will be provided. SSC employees will collect trash. Class will begin promptly at 7:45 am
Bus, ASEP, and Day Care Dismissal:
For dismissal movement logistics, students will move to buses, ASEP, and day care on the right side of the hallway when dismissed from classrooms.
Teachers will supervise students moving to buses, ASEP, and day care.
Supervision by staff will ensure responsible distancing as students proceed to exit to the bus lane.
2:15 Bus Dismissal:
For dismissal movement logistics, each bus will be called separately & traffic will flow on the right side of the hallway.
Responsible distancing will be reviewed & enforced. Signage will be posted.
Supervision by staff will ensure responsible distancing as students proceed to exit to the bus lane.
Face coverings will be required.
2:25 Car Dismissal:
All staff on duty, All car riders, staff children, & ASEP will stay seated in their homerooms to ensure schools have responsible distancing protocols & less movement during a school-wide dismissal.
A staff member will be assigned to call students to report once their vehicle arrives.
Students will proceed to the car rider lane. No one picking up a student should exit their vehicle during dismissal.
Additional staff members will be assigned to locations throughout the building to monitor responsible distancing & student safety.
Once car rider dismissal is complete, This will give ASEP staff time to sanitize & set up snacks in the cafeteria. ASEP will report to the cafeteria.
When moving to and from locations within the school, students will walk following normal traffic flow patterns. The number of students in the hall at any given time will be minimized by scheduling and procedures that are in place to ensure students are responsible distanced. Students will be supervised at all times in the hall or common areas.
Lunches, special transitions, and restroom breaks will be staggered for classrooms in order to responsibly distance.
TRAFFIC FLOW Plan:
Students will enter the hallways and walk in one direction of their assigned hallway - 4th Grade Hall/5th Grade Hall.
Tiger Paws, to ensure responsible distancing, have been placed on the floor throughout the building. These Tiger Paws will be a visual reminder of the distance between the person in front and behind students when in line and transitioning in the hallways.
During transitions, students will stop on a Tiger Paw when stopping intermittently as they move from place to place in the building.
School will follow the traffic flow chart.
During the Instructional Day -
● bathroom use or water fountain use may go against flow;
● individual movement may go against flow;
● inclement weather may cause a change requiring teachers to work with other teachers to keep contra flow at a minimum.
● SPECIALS - Students will follow the flow of the one way traffic to their specials. Teachers will escort students to ensure social distancing and to monitor behavior.
