We are HFE. We are HERE. We are FAMILY. We are EXCEPTIONAL.
Classroom policies to be implemented include the following:
As per school policy, chromebooks will remain in the classroom. Homework assigned will be from our textbook resources and assessment reviews may be completed by visiting our class website on a personal / home computer.
Uniforms are optional this year.
Students may bring healthy snacks to eat in the classroom at the discretion of the teacher.
Due to pest issues, water is the only liquid allowed in classroom and water must be kept in plastic / metal drinking container. Due to potential for classroom distraction, no plastic water bottles allowed.
In accordance with HCS handbook, chewing gum is not allowed in the building.
Cell phones must be maintained in book bags and turned "off". In accordance with HCS handbook, unauthorized possession, displaying or using a cell phone during the school day applies. Any cell phone that is caught outside of the bookbag will be confiscated and placed in vault for parent to retrieve at the end of the day.
Due to space constraints in classroom, unless a medical reason applies, no rolling bookbags allowed.
Students may bring a mouse and headphones for chromebooks. Students will not be allowed to wear wireless ear buds connected to cell phones.
It is preferred that students do not use a mechanical pencil. Wooden pencils are preferred.
Transportation changes must be made directly to the front office. Mrs. Salter can not accept changes.
In accordance with HCS handbook, when students must take medications at school, by prescription or over-the-counter (OTC), parents must bring all medicine and related equipment to the clinic aid (including inhaler and epi pens).
