5th Grade Advanced Math

Henry County Schools believes that each student can learn at or above grade level and is committed to ensuring students have the equal opportunity to do so. To support students in learning math content that is above grade level, Henry County Schools offers advanced math courses beginning in third grade. Students must meet rubric criteria to be eligible to participate.

Students benefit when they are able to engage in challenging math instruction early in their education. Content acceleration is one of the most effective ways to adjust instruction in response to students’ specific strengths. Educational opportunities designed to help students learn challenging material at a pace commensurate with their rate of learning increases both engagement and achievement.
