C.A.R.E. Team and HenryCares Check-In
The HenryCares Check-In is completed twice a year for students in grades 3-12. Data from these check-ins allow us to see which student don't feel they have a caring adult in the building, a caring adult outside of school, or a friend. Students that don't have a strong sense of belonging can be damaging to student's self-esteem. The CARE team is tasked with looking at the data from each administration of the check-in to identify students that have less than 2 supportive relationships, and make contact with them.
In addition, the CARE team must prioritize going through the data to identify statements that students may make in the open-ended responses that may show that they need support. Students may make statements about self-harm or suicidal ideation in these comments that must be addressed as quickly as possible.
