Toys for Tots

The MCJROTC program held a collection drive where students at Tucker could donate toys for local children in Richmond who don't have the opportunity to receive toys at Christmas. Cadets then went to the collection warehouse on a Saturday morning to sort the toys donated.

Cadets donated their time to washing the Purple Heart Firetruck, an organization founded by SSgt Herb Delbridge (USMC) to veterans who, "carry the burden of every war."

The Marine Corps Birthday

The Birthday Cake

A group of six cadets processed in with the adjutant to present the cake for the oldest and youngest cadets, as well as the Guest of Honor, to eat.

Color Guard

The color guard is an essential part of every MCJROTC function, but especially the Marine Corps Birthday Celebration. The colors were presented, posted, and retired.

Working Party

The cadets pictured above spent countless hours practicing for and putting on the Marine Corps Birthday ceremony. These volunteers did everything from learning sword-work to helping set up the tables beforehand.

Moto Team Flags

Two cadets run across the field after a Tucker Tiger touchdown! The Moto Team sends two cadets after every score to run the school flags through the end zone.

Pushups

Supported by six cadets, one other cadet from the Moto Team mounts the pushup board and knocks out the number of points on the board after each Tucker score.

Flags

Raising

Each morning, cadets who arrive early raise the American, state, and county flag according to state and national flag order.

Lowering

Cadets in 6th and 7th periods lower the flags each day 15 minutes before the end of school.

Folding

After lowering the flags and taking them off of the flag poles, cadets properly fold the flags and place them in the office, ready to be raised the following day.

Retiring

The Tucker MCJROTC program retires unserviceable flags each year from all across the county by disposing of them properly as service to the community and nation.

Awards Night

Senior cadets were called onto the stage to receive their scarlet and gold cord as well as their white stole that they will wear on their robe at graduation in June.
