House Project

Overview:

The House Project provides students with real-world, hands-on learning activities that help develop and apply the skills and knowledge they learn in the classroom. The project also offers a showcase of our students and their talents for local contractors and businesses looking for employees. Students gain experience working alongside and collaborating with the different construction fields as well as students from other schools and centers. and learn to collaborate alongside other trade areas and students from different schools.

Building Coordinator:

Mr. Coker has been a carpenter for 35 years and has taught carpentry for 21 years with Henrico County. Before becoming the Building Coordinator, Mr. Coker taught the carpentry courses at the ACE Center at Highland Springs. Mr. Coker began teaching because he saw a need in the industry for young apprentices to fill the many available jobs within the building industry.
