Pathways to Learning 

Hillsboro-Deering High School offers multiple and flexible pathways preparing every student to be college and/or career ready by the end Grade 12. Courses and pathways are designed for students to challenge themselves academically, while building their skills to be successful in their post-secondary endeavors.  All courses and pathways lead to a Hillsboro-Deering High School Diploma. 

Hillsboro-Deering High School Pathways to College and/or Career Readiness

College/Career Ready Courses (CCR)

• Students have grade-level reading and writing skills

• Coursework builds toward preparation for the next grade level

• Focus is on both content and skill development

Honors Courses (H)

• Content focus with support for skill development

• Greater depth of content

• High level of independent work

• May require summer work 

Advanced Placement/Early College Courses (AP/RS)

• Reading, writing, and assessment are at the college level

• Courses are content driven with the application of college level skills

• May require summer work
