902 – Physical Education I Half Year ½ credit
Recommendation: 9th and 10th grade
The students will participate in a variety of class activities (individual as well as team sports), which will allow them to increase their overall Physical Fitness levels. Students will work on improving their muscular strength and endurance. Cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and body composition will be stressed. The ultimate goal of the class is through an exposure to a variety of activities; students will continue to maintain and improve their own physical fitness once the class has ended.
903 - Physical Education II Half Year ½ credit
Recommended: 11th and 12th grade
This elective program is for students who have completed sophomore physical education and would like to continue to improve their skills in various activities as well as cardiovascular, muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility. The ultimate goal of the class is that students will continue to maintain or improve their physical fitness once they are out of school.
904 - Athletic Training: Strength Conditioning Half-Year ½ credit
Recommended: 10th,11th and 12th grades
Prerequisite: PE I
Students will work on improving their muscular strength and endurance, along with their cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and body composition. This course aims to teach behaviors that will allow students to continue to maintain and improve their own physical fitness beyond their semester in this course. Athletic Training students will achieve personal goals, needs, and knowledge for lifetime fitness through weight training.
906 -Personal Fitness Half-Year ½ credit
Prerequisite: Physical Education (1 semester)
This course is designed to empower students to enhance their personal wellness by setting, implementing, and reflecting on individual fitness goals. Through a blend of theoretical understanding and practical application, students will engage in a comprehensive exploration of strategies to improve physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall health. This course encourages students to take an active role in their well-being, fostering habits and knowledge that will support a lifetime of healthy choices.
