From March 4th to March 6th, the Blakelock Girls Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Kingston, Ontario to compete in Girls AA Volleyball at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA). They competed in 7 games, winning all except the finals, where they lost to Béatrice-Desloges Catholic Secondary School, from Ottawa. This resulted in Blakelock winning second in OFSAA, therefore winning second in the province.
The team was coached by Ms Osmond and Ms McAllan. Keira Mackenzie was the captain and Emma Oliveira was the assistant coach. They played 12 games in total, accumulating 8 wins and 4 losses over the regular season.

The team was supportive and encouraging throughout, cheering each other on from the bleachers, as well as using green pom poms during the OFSAA games to keep spirits high. The joy and energy could be felt on and off the court.
“Teaching the volleyball team has been an incredibly fulfilling experience for me. Witnessing the players' growth, not just in their skills on the court, but also in their teamwork, friendship, and sportsmanship, has been truly rewarding. They've demonstrated an admirable dedication to improvement, both individually and collectively, which has made my role as their coach all the more enjoyable,” Ms Osmond raved.

The team played exceptionally in Kingston, representing Blakelock through technical skill, positive teamwork and friendships. The cherry on top—winning second place for girls volleyball in the province.
“On the court, they exhibit a strong sense of unity and mutual support, which contributes directly to their success in matches. Off the court, they foster friendships and a supportive network that enriches their overall experience as student-athletes,” Ms Osmond concluded.
