Battle of the Bands 2024

On Tuesday, May 14, the Music Department held their very first Battle of the Bands event, showcasing three of TAB’s spectacular rock bands during lunch in the large gym. With free admission, the supportive crowd cheered on the bands and dropped by to enjoy the music.

Glob started the show, led by vocalist TL Sutherland, with Stefan Antic on drums, Curran White on solo guitar, Markus Wrona on rhythm guitar, Aaron Wrona on electric bass, and Nino Nguyen on keyboard. 

This enthusiastic group presented three fantastic songs: Creep by Radiohead, Home by Collective Soul, and Hold the Line by Toto. 

Right after, the Teacher Rock Band, consisting of Mr. Sumner on drums, Mr. McConvey on solo guitar, Mr. Rochus on rhythm guitar, Mr. Beaupre on electric bass, and Mr. Houston on vocals, joined the stage. Together, this fantastic group of our well-known teachers blasted the crowd away with Say It Ain’t So by Weezer, Enter Sandman by Metallica, and Everybody by Backstreet Boys.

Then, the astounding Rubber Bandz, who had previously played for the school during Relay of Life, presented their catchy tunes: Just a Girl by No Doubt, Sk8er Boi by Avril Lavigne, Brazil by Declan McKenna, and From the Start by Good Kid. 

The band is led by Jack Pinette on drums, with Mikaela Morin on vocals, AJ Strath-Lucic on rhythm guitar, Kenny Allen on solo guitar, and Holly Gosling on electric bass. 

After everyone's amazing performances, Glob and Rubber Bandz did an encore, bringing back the hype to the crowd and jamming together once more. 

“It was very fun and cool to see all the other bands that were kind of made for this event and that worked really hard. The outcome was great and a lot of people showed up just to listen to music, to enjoy it, and see their friends rock out on stage,” expressed AJ Strath-Lucic, the guitarist of Rubber Bandz.
