The Blakelock Tigers Sr. Volleyball boys have had a very strong season. They held it together through tough losses and great wins. The team has been confident, shown commitment and kept each other up with positive reinforcement and kind words during their home games. They have shown strength and resilience throughout the season and we could not be more proud!
On September 19th, Blakelock went against Garth Webb Secondary School for the first volleyball game of the season. Even though the team started the game strong in the first set, they lost the game by the end.
Zach McCabe, number nine, mentioned that fellow teammate Jack Herbert, number twenty, “had impressive blocks".
On Monday, October 3rd, T.A. Blakelock’s Tigers won against Abbey Park High School. The Tigers had pulled through after a tough loss in the prior game against Georgetown High School. The team coach, Mr. Jobbitt, said this about the last game: “Georgetown is a great team with well balanced and skilled players. Blakelock showed heart today and made a great show of athleticism making it an entertaining game to watch for all.”
The fourth game on Monday the 17th of October was a test of strength for the TAB Tigers. Blakelock started off strong, winning the first set, but finished off the game with a tough final score of 15-8. Though the game was a loss, the players never faltered and held together as a team, by picking each other up throughout the game. The cheers from the crowd were not forgotten.
“The boys played the game with a lot of heart,” number thirteen, Pierce Provencal said about the team. The team played cooperatively and with a strong sense of passion for the sport.
Throughout game 5, the Tigers held their heads high with pride for the sport. They started with excitement but sadly, the game ended in a loss.
Nevertheless, the TABloid could not be more proud of our Tigers this volleyball season! Their commendable teamwork and school spirit could not be ignored. Go Tigers!
