This winter season turned out to be a good one, with Blakelock sending four athletes and one team to the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA).
Athletes Olivia Frost and Sam Appleton had the privilege of competing at OFSAA for the swim team. The event took place from February 28th to March 1st, 2023 in Windsor, Ontario. The events were live streamed for many to tune in. Olivia Frost swam the 100 meter breaststroke and placed 13 at OFSAA, later winning the consolation final. Sam Appleton swam the 100 meter breaststroke and placed an impressive 28.
AJ VanHeerden also qualified for OFSAA, but was unable to make it due to weather conditions.
“OFSAA was surreal. I’m surprised I even qualified, given that I couldn’t dive at the start of the year. I'm so grateful for the friends I’ve made on the team and all the staff who have supported our team this season,” Sam Appleton responded, when asked about his experience at OFSAA.
Grade 11 student, Nicolas Haneberry, met the OFSAA requirement of placing first in the Greater Horseshoe Athletic Conference (GHAC) qualifiers, on February 9.
The race was at Alpine Ski Club in Collingwood against many ski racers.
OFSAA was held at Osler Bluffs Ski Club in Collingwood from February 26 to 28.
During his first race at OFSAA, he placed 28 against the best of school ski racers in a Slalom race.

The Girls Hockey Team
Girls Hockey won against St Mary’s in the GHAC qualifier on March 7th.
The team progressed to OFSAA in Stratford, Ontario from March 21st to 23rd, coached by Mrs. Sydor, and Mr. Butler.
The players worked hard, and bonded over a series of days, coming back stronger than ever. They all had great experiences and had great seasons.
Congratulations to all that qualified for OFSAA this season.
