Other Student-Led Bodies
There are several other student-led bodies in the school that bring out the leader in our students, and provide students with vast opportunities to come together for a common cause. Below is a list (non-exhaustive) of some of these student bodies:
Class Management Committees (CMC)
Each class has a team of 6 to 8 students responsible for different aspects of the class climate, including class cleanliness, classroom facilities, welfare activities and social communication. A copy of the CMC's structure and guidelines can be downloaded here (required to login to your HCI Google account).
VIA Council
The VIA Council, together with the Welfare Secretary of the CMC of each class, helps to plan and organise community service activities with external organisations to allow students to participate in community service and CEP/SL projects led by upper secondary students in Hwa Chong.
Green Council
Pushing the Green movement in the school, the Green Council regularly rolls out initiatives in recycling and saving of resources around the school, such as the use of air-conditioning. Past efforts have also included selling of recyclables such as books, stationery and school uniforms.
CCA Council
The CCA Council brings together the chairmen and captains of all 37 CCAs in the school. It provides a platform for CCAs to support one another - may it be to share resources or good practices. CCAs also come together for special activities such as musical concerts, recreational games and the annual CCA Appreciation Day.
