CB Marlene D. Deriquinto was a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Accounting in 1985 from the University of the East. In 1993, she proceeded to her Masteral class as she earned the degree in Customs Administration and graduated in 1995 from PMI Colleges. She is considered part of history as she was one of the 100 Centennial Brokers and passed the Customs Broker Licensure Examination in 1998.
She is currently a member of the Chamber of Customs Brokers Incorporated as she has received various recognitions and appreciation from this organization for her active participation, particularly during the Membership Forum, General Assembly, and National Convention Committees since 1998.
She started her career while practicing for her master’s degree as she started working in the shipping and logistics industry in 1992. Then, she worked in Hapag-Lloyd Philippines, Incorporated from 1992 to 1996 as she was assigned to container equipment management, cargo consolidation, vessel operations for breakbulk, and project cargo handling. In the same industry, she worked as Secretary to the Operations Manager. In just one year working at the company, she was promoted to Supervisor, equipment Control Division in 1993. Then, she was promoted to another position as she was appointed as Deputy Manager for Operations in 1996.
After these experiences, she decided to work in another industry as she was a former employee in Aboitiz One International as she took over the business units' process related to customs such as shipping, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and trucking. In the same industry, she handled the position as the Business Manager for Brokerage Services from 1997 to 1999, and then she was the Operations Manager for Seafreight Brokerage & Forwarding from 2000 to 2001. 2001 – 2003, she was in a higher position as the Sales Manager for Brokerage Services. With her work experience, she outshined all the staff since she had various citation awards. She was enlisted as one of the Top 100 Team Members of Aboitiz One, cited as Customer Service Excellence, and cited as one of the most Successful Cross Sellers by Aboitiz One Central Sales. In the same company, she also managed Seafreight Forwarding on import and export, participated in the business units’ quest for process improvement gaining international standards, and was tasked to train staff to achieve a high level of service to meet customer’s needs.
In 2004, she transferred to another customs industry as she was given a position as a Marketing Manager of the D & S Logistics Company, a customs clearance agent company. In her seven (7) years in the position, she was in charge of the company’s marketing and sales production, doing regular visits to clients for shipment progress and updates, doing sales presentations for new accounts, and developing a tailor-fit process for each customer need in pricing and operation. She acts as the company's Customs Brokerage for the import shipment, customs clearance, and delivery.
In 2011, she was part of the Asia Overseas Transport Co., Inc., an international freight forwarding company, handling the position of Logistics & Customer Service Manager. During her 2-year stay at this company, she was overall in charge of the Department, handled the customer requirements in all its logistics needed, maintained a high level of customer satisfaction, attended a meeting with concerned government agencies concerning customer shipment, handled queries from clients and overseas agents regarding transport and customs clearing cost, develops company policies and procedure in the department and ensures its compliance. In the year 2012, she worked as a Freelance Consultant for Importation and Exportation with the work areas focusing on rending services to freight forwarding companies engaging in Customs Brokerage, Seafreight and Airfreight transport operations, tariff & customs law, handling the processing of PEZA Licensing, Philippine Shippers Bureau (PSB) Accreditation and Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), rendering consultancy services for Importers and Exporters seeking Accreditation with Bureau of Customs (BOC) as well as their products if required Import Permits and Licenses.
In 2015, she entered another industry as she worked and had a position as Operations Manager in F2 Global Logistics, Inc. She was in charge of the Operations Department as she handled customer requirements in all its logistics needs and maintained high customer satisfaction based on the Key Performance Indicator.
In 2017, she was promoted as the Area Manager for North Luzon (Subic Branch) as she was the overall in charge of the Branch. Currently, she is working in this industry as she handles the special account that exports Dangerous Goods cargo from Subic to Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. She communicates directly to agents regarding matters related to the export shipment coordination ex-Philippines and handles permits and licenses required to clear import shipments of Dangerous Goods cargo from DENR – Environmental Management Bureau (EMB). In this position, she handled covers responsibilities as she attended meeting with concerned government agencies concerning the customer’s shipment and handled queries from clients and overseas agents regarding transport and customs clearing cost. Develop and implement company policies and procedures in the department and ensures compliance.
