Internships can be done in-person or remotely based on the project selected by the company/organization

Provide extended opportunities for learners to apply the technical and employability skills they have learned in the classroom and in previous work-based learning experiences in a workplace setting

Assists worksite mentor to develop intern job description and application process. Acts as a liaison and main point of contact for the school coordinator. Manages all interns in the company/organization. Monitors progress and provides opportunities for interns to learn more about the company and the employability/transferable skills necessary to succeed in the internship.
Works as the direct supervisor to specific intern(s). Oversees the project and the role the intern holds in that project. Develops the job description and leads the application and interview process. Communicates with the school coordinator and internship manager about intern progress.
Generally found in high school internship programs.
Coordinates the internship and meetings with the student and families. Assists with developing training agreement based on job description. Monitor students and maintains documentation
Typically one-time experiences at school or through a huakaʻi or field trip to build student awareness of the wide range of career, college, and community options available to them
Exploration activities go beyond brief exposure of awareness-building experiences by extending the experience through multiple interactions or more rigorous student participation
Preparation level experiences strengthen student content knowledge and skills through coursework linked to extended interaction with community and industry professionals
Training experiences are extended interactions that require the application of the learned technical, employability, and academic knowledge in real-world industry settings
