What materials will you need for your project?
The sewing machine, fabric, elastic, and thread.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create a scrunchie.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be a different design.
Using the sewing machine, fabric and thread, I created a scrunchie because it would be easy to make. I also made it because I knew it could be useful. The design I chose was paw print.
During this process, I learned there is a lot of steps to making a scrunchie on the sewing machine. I also learned that even though it was a long process it was fun to make.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I decided what I wanted to make.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making it the right size. I was able to do it by trying different sizes.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the design of it. The reason why I would change it is because I could make different designs.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in deciding what I want to make and making it.
