Using a fabrics, a sowing machine, and some scissors I created a bag. During this project I had to restart and get some help because I didn't know how to use a sowing machine. During this project I also had to learn proportions of stuff for the bag fabrics.

 During this process, I learned how to use a sowing machine. Also that sowing is not difficult once you learn how to sow.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to global collaborator because I shared this with the world. I also am showing it to friends.  As well as family.

A challenge I overcame on this project was making sure I sowed in a strait line. I messed up once by getting to close to the edge. I was able to fix it by taking it apart and redoing that part

Given a chance to do this again, I would try to make pockets on the bag. The reason why I would do it is because it would be a good holder for pencils and such . I would make it on the outside with 2 pockets if I did do it .

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to Engineering Design the  CTE program at Hastings High School, because I created a bag by using a machine that requires partly human work. The reason why I used my hands was to guide the fabric and I would also press the pedal with my foot for it to move.

My project connects to careers Engineering Design with things like construction worker.  With that job I could make things like building and sculptures or maybe working a a factory. The job will involve a lot of math but it would be manageable with the machines I use.
