Are you working by yourself on this project ? No because I'm working with Mavie on this .
What materials do you need? Cardboard, hot glue and paint(if we have time to paint it).
What is your plan to create for this project? I want to make it something new and interesting almost art like.
What unique qualities will your project have ? Our project will have unique quality's based on me and Mavie's work.
Day 1:
List of 10 and planning questions
Day2:
We got 1/2 of the big part of the spider done
Day 3:
We got most of the spider done
Day 4:
We got the spider done now we are coloring it
Day 5:
We finished the spider.
Day 6:
Reflections and video.
Using cardboard, hot glue, and paints we created a black widow spider. We for some strange reason decided to name him Timothy Gorge the 3rd . In this project I brought in my own paints. During this project I also had to try and calculate if the legs could hold the body.
During this process, I learned that you should try and do some math first and some weighing . Also that my painting skills can be useful. In this case it was using it to texture and bring life to my project.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to global collaborator because I shared this with the world. I also am showing it to friends. As well as family.
A challenge I overcame on this project was having to get the body to stand up on its own. I was able to do it by readjusting the legs. I was able to readjust it by removing and re-adding hot glue to some spots.
Given a chance to do this again, I would try to paper mashie parts of it . The reason why I would do it is because it would make the spider look a lot better and more spider like. It would have taken a lot of time but it would have given it the rounder shape it needed .
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to Engineering Design the CTE program at Hastings High School, because I created a spider with mathematics and engineering skills. The reason why I used math was to see if the spider Wight could be held properly.
My project connects to careers Engineering Design with things like construction worker. With that job I could make things like building and sculptures. The job will involve a lot of math but it would be manageable.
