8P6 - Sphero

• Using Sphero bolt, I made it travel through a maze because I had never used the sphero before and it seemed like an easy project. I made the sphero go through the maze and find 3 ends. this was a very fun and interesting project.

• During this process, I learned how to connect the Sphero to the iPad, I learned how to direct it and how to get the right camera angles to get the sphero. I did not know how fast the sphero would go so I was a bit surprised when I first started it. Also, after I learned how to properly directed it, it seemed pretty easy to direct and not run into anything.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I used ways of technology to find solutions to solve the maze. the maze had 3 exits so I had to figure out 3 different ways to exit the maze.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to balance the sphero enough to be able to get over the bumps. I was able to do it by changing the speed. of course, it took a while to actually be able to do it without it falling off the trail. i still have trouble with it but I will get better at it.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the type of robot I used. The reason why I would change it is because other robots can do more and different things. diffrent robots are able to talk, pick things up, and carry things. i think it would be alot cooler to make a robot talk or move something around.
