Using stop motion, I created a short film of a creature named Cow, who lost his award winning banana and finds a friend named sparkels who helped him search the whole world for his banana witch they later found sitting on Cows table. I made this because I thought it would be a cute story of friendship and that every body makes mistakes.
During this process, I learned people who make stop motion movies are really talented because it takes a lot of time to make caracters and things, I made two characters and that took me a whole hour. So I learned to be patient with myself while making the characters and props for my project. I also learned to be creative on a short amount of time. With creaivity came ingenuity, I learned to make things work in a better more affective way.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational thinker because I solved problems not only in the story but also in the creation of the story. In the story the problem is that Cow lost his banana, and it was on the table the whole time. I solved a problem in the making of the characters because Sparkles head would not stay on so I put a small pice of wood to conect the head to the body.
A challenge I overcame on this project was editing the movie/video. I was able to do it by getting help from Mr.Renner. I added music and words to this short film to make the plot more understandable to people who have never seen it. adding in text was the biggest strugle but I did it. though some of the text is longer and has a shorter amount of time to read it I still think is a great kids short film. :)
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the story and how long it was. The reason why I would change it is because I this the plot is a bit to basic and cheesy. I would change the time because I think it was too short for a full story to be put in. I would make the movie longer and I would make the plot a little more... Advanced.
