Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I'm working in a team of 5 people.
What materials will you need for your project?
Cardboard, iPad and 2 robots.
What is your plan to create in this project
A unique way of using 2 different types of robots and a cardboard creation to make one special thing.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be 3 projects combined.
Using Robots and cardboard, I created a team robot game because we were able to do 5 projects (5 people) in one project combined.
During this process, I learned how to use the different movement types of sphero in blocks.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because we did multiple projects tied to each other without having to get any special permissions.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting past the Dash using Sphero blocks movement. I was able to do it by watching the Dash's movement blocks and countering them with mine.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the amount of robots. The reason why I would change it is because the video was short and didn't show how long it actually took.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design and Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Construction jobs (cardboard arena) and Machine Programming (Sphero/Dash Movement).
