Planning questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team? I'm working by my self and trying to do as much as possible alone without others help.
What materials will you need for your project? I need to use some type of cad to create my 3D-print
What is your plan to create in this project? I want to make the katana of a book character in the book I'm currently reading.
What unique qualities will your project have to separate it from other peoples’ projects? I'm Adding unique features like unusual colors and shapes.
I started by checking out all the ways to move the camera and what the buttons do
I started looking through shapes and seeing what things I could make and what shapes I could make with other shapes.
I came up with the idea of a mailbox because were putting together a house model in my dads room and I need a mailbox.
I wanted to use some type of unusual shapes in my build so, I used a slash in the text object as the handle of my mail box.
I made a mailbox to fit in with the small house model that my family made a while back, I have had a little drive way and some ambiences for a while but I haven't had access to a 3D printer for a while.
What i created
Using tinker cad, I created a mailbox because it would go along with a house model that my dad has.
What have i learned
During this process, I learned how to use tinker cad and make 3d prints with different shapes and utensils.
The class standards
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational thinker, I had to use
a challenge i overcame
A challenge I overcame on this project was my 3D print failing and looking like a a swirly with a box on top and it was 5 cm in diameter. I was able to overcome this by accepting that it had been ruined and go on from there.
If I could do it again
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the sizing and clipping of each polygon on the print. The reason why I would change it is because if I do this it would come out correctly and not be a hunk of junk.
how my project connects to cte
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Creative Engineering, a type of Engineering where you make what you think is beneficial, you oculd use the skill of 3D printing using Cads.
class standard tied to my project
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer, I'm designing something completely from my imagination while innovating by finding references and using different shapes to mimic what I need.
