Planning Questions

Are you working by yourself or in a team?

I'm working with Carter Bell.

What materials will you need for your project?

I will need bloxels and an Ipad.

What is your plan to create in this project?

I want to create a 2 level speedrun parkour game.

What unique qualities will your project have?

It will be made to be speedran and have hidden exploits to beat it faster.

Daily Log:

Day 1: We went through different level layouts to find what we wanted to do

Day 2: After we decided to make a speedrun game we started testing things like the jetts and key doors

Day 3: We added a couple of coins so that it would have an objective other than getting to the end fast

Day 4: Theirs 7 coins total and you must collect them all to win.

Day 5: We added an end goal that allows you to exit and tells how many out o the 7 coins you collected.

Reflection

• Using Bloxels, I created a speedrun game because speedrunning games is a huge trend right now.

• During this process, I learned how to make hidden speedrun tactics that players could exploit for faster runs.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because I innovated ways to hide exploits. A challenge I overcame on this project was making sure the exploits were hard to access and pull off. I was able to do it by adding enemies to fight were you would use the exploit.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the length of the speedrun. The reason why I would change it is because the speedrun varies in tenths of seconds without having a longer parkour segment.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Video Game Design.
