Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I will be working by myself on the last project. Except for a short section where I will have another person hold the camera. I will need this other person to record the robot while I run the code for it.
What materials will you need for your project?
For this project, I will need the materials for the iRobot. These materials will include a marker, the robot itself, the mat for the robot, and an iPad. I technically also need the charger for the electronics I am using but they are not absolutely essential like the other equipment.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create a drawing with the iRobot. I will make the code more this drawing in the iRobot application. It will be then drawn by the iRobot on the iRobot mat with a dry-erase marker.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will have the qualities of being a sort of work of art made by the technology we have been using for the past week or so. Though it will be similar to designs of some fonts used in graffiti this design itself will be original. In this project, I will have to be creative enough to not be too intricate for the robot to draw.
Make a cool symbol with the iRobot
Make the Sphero mini spell out things
Make the Dash transport mice
Make the iRobot draw a maze
Make the Sphero mini follow a course
Make the Dash shoot multiple projectiles
Race two different robots
Make two robots battle
Draw an optical illusion with the iRobot
Make the Sphero minis play tag
Absent
Did code
I wasnt here to update this going forward but i have all the code
Party BOMB
I-robot drawing
I-robot man
SPHERO small
DASH CATERPULT
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Using IRobot, I created a drawing because I wanted to test the limits of the robot and make something more complex, the IRobot traversed the slate it was given to draw on and make the drawing by moving in the direct ways it was told to make the design. Also, it had to without fail, no malfunctions (like the marker raising and lowering) to run the code and make the design.
During this process, I learned about how to program robots like the IRobot because I didn't know how to program them yet, things i learned were how to make it move, how to make it go up and down, etc. Also, I learned how to make the code not break and correspond with my inputs.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Worker because I had to right sequences of code in a specific order for the robots to properly function in the intended way.
A challenge I overcame on this project was Getting it on time even though I was gone a week before. I was able to do it by Getting my work done the week before I left, I worked together with Jayce as well to get all my work done.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change The Party Bomb code. The reason why I would change it is that the code for the party bomb isn't perfect and needs fixing because its jump code is trash, it didnt even slightly get off the ground and the code just made it move and change colors which made it look bad.
