In Innovation and Design, we have standards for the class. These standards set a bottom line to follow while working on projects. These standards are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator.
Being an Empowered Learner is the ability to be able to set a learning goal and reflect on it. You have the ability to choose the tools you need to achieve your goals. You also branch out to new technologies that you may or may not know how to use, and if you don't know how to use them, you troubleshoot the problems.
Being a Digital Citizen means you are responsible on the internet and you engage in positive and legal conversations and behavior in online scenarios. This can also mean understanding the rights that people have on their intellectual property.
Being a Knowledgeable Constructor means to learn more about your project. If you are a knowledgeable constructor, you can identify hyperlinks, sources, and search tools to find information about what you are searching.
Being a Innovative designer means that you are thinking and asking questions as you go about you project. This could mean anything from just asking a basic question to testing your project to see if your idea works. (This deals with process.)
After testing your project to see if it works, you might need to problem solve. Being a Computational Thinker means being capable of problem solving after testing your product. This may be done with many different ways. (This deals with product.)
