Using the Micro:Bit I have created a Rock paper scissors game, but here's where I began, making my name scroll across the micro:bit (BEHOLD MY NAME-ITH)
The code was kind of hard but really simple. It uses a random number generator (RNG) to pick 1,2, or 3 then shows rock, paper, and scissors.
This is how it turned out. I got really lucky (It likes to roll doubles and triples Ex: Scissors Scissors Scissors Paper).
Paper is if the RNG picks 1
Scissors is if the RNG picks 2
Rock is if the RNG picks 3
So I guess you should call this Paper, Scissors, Rock? Well anyway,
Using Micro:bits, I created a rock paper scissors because I wanted to challenge myself and someone else.
During this process, I learned that variables are hard to use. Also that you can add more 'else if' to the 'if' blocks
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because we had to code.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the 'shake' command being more of an 'exist' command. I was able to overcome this by changing it to a 'A Press' which actually worked. That somehow was the most annoying thing the whole time I made my RPS Micro:bit.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change rock to 1, paper to 2, and scissors to 3. The reason why I would change it is because it makes more sense.
