Using cardboard, My group (Me, Reese, Ethan, and Spencer) made Skee ball and it was fun. We made it because our group said that it would be fun. So we did and kinda failed but i wouldn't say that because it works.
During this process, I learned that its is hard to make a skee ball game that work like regular skee ball. So we made platforms instead of holes. Although it it harder to play its not imposible. Here's the rules; Roll the ball up the ramp, landing on a platform gives *2, and hitting multiple platform gives you those points added, the most points you could probably get is 1,000 points
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator and Global Collaborator because i had to communicate and collaborate a lot with my team. This came in when deciding on platforms and the angle of the ramp.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the angle of the ramp. I was able to do it by putting a box under the ramp, moving it slowly and testing it. This was hard because we only had 5 balls and no platforms at the time.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the platforms. The reason why I would change it is because skee ball has holes not platforms. this was another challenge that my team had come over. we opted for the platforms because we didn't have the time and resources to make holes.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design and maybe Construction Trades CTE programs at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in construction and game design.
