Using the iPad iMovie and scratch, I created a apple and banana game that when you get hit by the apple or the banana you take damage because it was something new and it sounded like fun. I also made this because I think this is entertaining for people and it would be a really good game that you should at least play once. Although I know the game is not really good and I think we could add like a leaderboard to see who has the highest score in the game so you can compete with different people.
During this process, I learned that sometimes coding in scratch can be easier or harder than coding in CoSpaces. I say this because on Scratch we have different codes that we can use and we have more codes than we do on CoSpaces. I also think this because sometimes on CoSpaces you need to code to make different objects to move at the same time or stuff like that but you don't have a code that says "when start" or "when clicked" so you have to make the variables or different tabs for it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because we had to learn how to use scratch. We watched videos to know how to share the game with my partners so we could work together on the project.
A challenge I overcame on this project was learning on how to make it so all of my team could reach on how to let the hole team access the website. I was able to do it by watching videos. And I also tried to find information in other students work but I couldn't find anything about it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what the game was about. The reason why I would change it is because the apple and bananas game was not that fun. I think I would change it to a crossy road or any other game like that one or probably a game where things are falling down and some of them are fruits and you need to catch them.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. Because I made a video for the website, and I edited it.
My project connects to careers in game coding because we had to code a game. We also made a code for each object in the game. Although just for one object we didn't have a code and it was a portal that we wanted to make but we couldn't get a code for it.
