7P8 Makey Makey

Using Makey Makey, We created 2 different Nintendo controllers because we thought it would be a fun and easy thing to make. We also made it because we wanted and creative way to play games.

During this process, I learned Makey Makey is easy to work with. I also learned that teamwork doesn't always help because, it is annoying to share different ideas

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because we decided to do this. We decieded to make the Play Doh controller and The NES Controller out of cardboard and aluminum foil

A challenge I overcame on this project was not having the Makey Makey work. I was able to do it by using the smaller cord included in the packet. Another challenge we overcame was messing up the design of the controller. I was able to do it by restarting the entire design for the controller.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the amount of effort I put into the design of the controller. The reason why I would change it is because the design is very flat and basic. I would also make the controller smaller and more compact.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in video game controller designing.
