Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
Im working by myself but ask for help.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a 3d printer and 3D printer
What is your plan to create in this project?
I want to create a airpod holder
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will have a special spot that actually holds the airpods
I made my list of 10 and answered my planning questions . I started designing to.
I started making my airpod holder. I added a bunch of squares and some little polls to hold the actually airpods.
today i fixed the shape and I added details like my name and a star on it.
I finished my designed and started trying to attach it tpo google classroom.
Using a 3D printer and a computer, I designed and created a custom 3D printed AirPod holder. This project arose from the need for a practical solution to keep my AirPods organized and safe. I was excited to have the opportunity to use technology in a creative way, allowing me to not only address a personal need but also learn about the 3D printing process. The result was a functional and stylish holder that fits my AirPods perfectly, showcasing how innovative design can meet everyday
During this process, I learned how to use a new design application specifically for 3D modeling. This involved understanding how to create and manipulate shapes to fit the dimensions of my AirPods. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience with the 3D printer, learning how to prepare my designs for printing and troubleshoot any issues that arose. This project not only enhanced my technical skills but also sparked my creativity, showing me how digital tools can bring ideas to life.
My project ties closely to the Innovative Designer standard because I created my own AirPod holder from scratch. I took the initiative to identify a need for a practical solution and used design software to develop a unique concept. By experimenting with different shapes and sizes, I was able to innovate and customize my design to meet my specific requirements. This experience allowed me to explore my creativity and think critically about how to solve a real-world problem through design.
One challenge I faced during this project was having to restart my design after encountering some issues with the initial print. To overcome this setback, I focused on the task at hand, minimizing distractions and avoiding unnecessary chatter. By concentrating on the project, I was able to refine my design and ensure it met my expectations. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance and staying committed to my goals, even when things don’t go as planned.
If I had the chance to do this project again, I would make sure to attach the star component more securely. Unfortunately, during the printing process, the star didn't stay attached and ended up falling off my design. This was disappointing because I wanted it to be a prominent feature. By focusing on stronger attachment methods and testing different designs, I could improve the overall durability and functionality of my AirPod holder, ensuring that all elements stay in place.
My project connects to the Engineering Design Career and Technical Education program at Hastings High School, as it involves key principles of design and problem-solving. Through the process of creating my 3D printed AirPod holder, I applied engineering concepts such as design iteration, functionality, and materials selection. This experience allowed me to engage in hands-on learning and develop skills that are essential in the field of engineering, such as critical thinking and innovation. I appreciate how the program encourages students to apply their creativity and technical knowledge to real-world challenges.
My project is closely related to careers in 3D design, as I had the opportunity to create and print my own custom AirPod holder. This experience involved using design software to bring my ideas to life, which is a fundamental skill for anyone pursuing a career in 3D design. By experimenting with different shapes and features, I learned how designers transform concepts into tangible objects, highlighting the creativity and technical proficiency required in this field. This project not only sparked my interest in 3D design but also showed me the potential for a future career in this exciting industry.
I used Chat GBT to help me create this.
