Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I'm working with one other person, Karrigan.
What materials will you need for your project?
Stop-Motion, tablet, iMovie. clay, legos, and paper.
What is your plan to create in this project?
Our plan is to make a tree that changes every season.
What unique qualities will your project have?
We combined our ideas together to create our project. It's unique because we thought of it and added things to our main idea to make it even better.
I started thinking about ideas with my partner, Karrigan. Also I wrote down some ideas on my list of 10.
Started making my Stop-Motion movie. We decided we are going to make a tree where it changes seasons.
We continued making our video and got to 140 videos. Tomorrow we will need to get 300 to catch up.
We caught up on photos and we almost reached 400. We finished our tree idea and need to add something else.
We got 548 photos today. We added a lake to our idea and made it so it looks like a is lake forming.
We reached 624 photos for our stop-motion project. We added a snake climbing up the tree.
We reach 804 photos and added words to it. To explain what was going to happen.
We reached 1003 photos today. Tomorrow we're going to write the end to finish it up.
We reached 1112 photos and finished our movie. However, we need to edit it in iMovie.
We finished our project after editing it in iMovie. It was 3 minutes and 2 seconds long.
Reflection
Using Stop - Motion and iMovie, I created a video of a trees life because we wanted to show the stages of it. We also thought it would be fun to make. I thought it would be fun to make/sculpt the tree using clay.
During this process, I learned how to use Stop - Motion to create a video. I also learned how to edit and split the clips to move them where I want them to in iMovie. We learned how to combine our ideas to make the project better then it was.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because when my partner's hand was in one of the photos we had to go back and delete that clip. In iMovie our video was out of order, so we had to split different clips and put them in the spots we wanted them to be.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting enough pictures so it was 3 minutes long. I was able to do it by putting in multiple ideas/events that went along with the tree. We also moved the animals/objects slower when they were trying to get to the tree so it would take up more photos.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the project that we did. The reason why I would change it is because it didn't take up as many photos as I intended. We had to get different ideas and add them to the trees life cycle to make it longer.
