What materials will you need for your project?
Cardboard, paper, and popsicle sticks.
What is your plan to create in this project?
To make a basketball arcade game out of cardboard.
What unique qualities will your project have?
We worked as a team and used different ideas to make a basketball arcade game.

We started planning and thinking about what our project should be. We wrote down our list of 10 good ideas.

We chose to do a basketball arcade game and we got the materials we needed.
Day 3

We continued building our project with cardboard and we made our backboard.
Day 4
We began painting our backboards and basketballs.
Day 5

We started making the basketball hoop and made the bottom of our base more sturdy.

We finished our basketball hoop and started making a ramp.

We continued to paint backboard and the basketballs. We also made and attached our ramp.

We started and finished our movie of our project.
Reflection
Using an ipad, I created a video about my cardboard project with 2 other people because we had to show and explain our project. We came together with different ideas to build our project as a team. Like someone came up with an idea for the hoop but someone else had another idea on how to make it sturdy, so we combined them.
During this process, I learned how to work in a team productively. I also had to think about time and have enough to finish the project. I learned how to build an arcade game out of cardboard that I can actually play.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator because I made a video about my project for everyone to see. I also had a daily blog for my project and images.
A challenge I overcame on this project was working in a group. I was able to do it by being patient and making sure everyone got to do something. I also made sure that I was offering suggestions and trying to make quality work.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the basketball hoop. The reason why I would change it is because the material was too flimsy and easy to break. If one of the balls hits it hard then it will break.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Product Designing, and Engineering and Design.
