I'm working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Computer, tablet, Tinkercad, and a 3D printer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to create a mug holder for my mom and my brother. That way my mom can put her mug somewhere and it won't spill. It helps my brother because he can use it as a cup holder and since he spills his drinks a lot it will help him.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be unique because it will fix a problem in my house.

Today we started talking about our next project and I started using Tinkercad.

I started building a case where I can put the TV remote and I tried different ideas.

I wrote my list of 10 good ideas and continued building my idea for the case.

I finished the box for the remote but I decided to do something else. I started making a mug holder instead.
Day 5

I made a pot for my baby snakeplant so that way it has plenty of room to grow but fits it. I also finished my planning questions.

I finished my planning questions and decided what I would do for my project. I'm going to do the mug holder for my mom and my brother.

I put the finishing touches to the mug/cup holder and measured it.

I finished my project and I wrote my reflections.
Reflection
Using Tinkercad on the computer, I created a mug holder because it's a place where my mom can put her mug when she's sitting. Also it's for my brother so he can use it as a cup holder for his drinks. That way he doesn't spill his water or milk.
During this process, I learned that Tinkercad was a thing. I learned how to make a 3D Design that will fix a problem in my house. Also I learned how to narrow down the problems in my house and choose the one that we really need fixed.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I used trial and error to make my project better. Also I continued to build different 3D Designs until I found the one that would truly fix a problem at my house.
A challenge I overcame on this project was finding a problem in my house. I was able to do it by looking around different rooms and thinking do we have a problem with that item. I also wrote down a list and chose the one that seemed like it would fix the most problems.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my project. The reason why I would change it is because I would try to challenge myself more and add more detail. I would also make a 3D Design that fixes a bigger problem.
Hastings High School career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Architectural Designer and 3D Designer.
