Planning Questions:
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working with Makaila H
What materials will you need for your project?
my chrome book, an ipad, and the bloxels game
What is your plan to create in this project?
a bloxels video game
What unique qualities will your project have?
Makaila and I had to make our game board and we had to learn what each of the colors stands for we also had to learn to play our game and learn to use the app.
Using bloxels and my ipad along with the bloxels app, we created a starwars gameboard because the bloxels is a star wars theamed bloxels set. We did not make a star wars game. We decided to create our own game and come up with our own layout.
Makaila and I did this because we have not worked with bloxels since 6th grade and we wanted to try something new. We ended up creating a pretty cool gameboard with lots of challenges. We even got to play around with the bloxels and make something that we created on our own to make our own video game.
During this process, I learned how to code using bloxels. I also, learned what each color block means\stands for. Makaila and I learned which block is for coins and which blocks do different things. We learned how to use the bloxels app as well. We needed to learn how to use the app and which blocks did what so we could learn our own game.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator. I think this because Makaila and I had to think together. We had to be creative and figure out how to make a fun but also challenging game board using a new app and a new piece of technology that we haven't worked with in a long time.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the game board we made we didn't know how to play we also didn't know how to use the app or set up the game board. We were able to do it by playing around with the blox and the apps. We had to learn what each block ment and what ech space on the game board would do.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change our game the game is really hard at first but once you get the hang of it its really easy. I wish it was just a little harder and longer. The reason why I would change it is because once you first go to play it, it seems really hard but once you get the hang of it, its actually easy. I want to make a more challeging game that is much longer.
