I made a tin foil boat in bowl like circular shaped boat that held 171 pennies and my 3D boat held 264
Using tinker cad and tin foil I created a 3D model of a boat and a in foil boat because my group and I wanted to see if it can hold pennies and float. My tin foil boat held 171 pennies and my 3D boat held 264 pennies
During this process, I learned how to print objects in the 3D printer.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I had to think about what the dimentions should be for the boat to float and hold objects.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making sure the walls fit the dimentions and doesn't sink and can hold pennies I was able to do it by mesuring and making sure my walls aren't tin but also, aren't super thick.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the shape and the size. The reason why I would change it is because then it can hold more pennies and it can be more fun.
This project connect to careers in the real world because many jobs need to code and use a computer or other expensive techonalgy.
