Ensures Equitable Digital Access
Provides and advocates for equitable access to collection tools using digital resources, programming and services in support of the school district's strategic vision.
Current Practices:
One full time Library Media Specialist for all six library media centers, one four-day a week library media assistant in each library and four one-day a week library media assistant in each library.
Members in the Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium (WSDLC) to provide access to thousands more ebooks and digital audiobooks
The six library websites provides access to resources such as Destiny Discover, search apps (databases), ebooks & digital audiobooks, copyright information and digital citizenship resources
Laptop and iPad carts provided to all grade levels to ensure equitable access to digital resources
Elementary schools 2:1 Chromebooks starting 24-25 school year
Middle schools 2 carts per grade level and one cart for specials
High school carts 14 available
Common School Funds purchased device inventory is monitored and set on a replacement cycle so technology stays current
Strong partnership with Technology Department so library plan and technology plan work hand in hand for equitable access for our students
Possible Areas for Growth:
Continuing in the the WSDLC consortium and finding different ways to promote the collection
Continued updating of the Library Media Center websites
Work with IT Director to justify a District Instructional Technology Integration Coaches - to keep up to date on new resources and support teachers in embedding resources into their curriculum in a meaningful way by enhancing professional practice
Support staff on usage of technology in the curriculum
