What is the 1:1 iPad Programme and how will it benefit your child?
From Year 4 onwards, students at Harrow are required to bring an iPad into school which ensures 1:1 personalised provision from this point forward.
iPads are used throughout Prep so it is a good time to make this investment.
Entry into Year 4 marks an exciting time in your child's journey through Harrow International School Bangkok. It is a time of developing independence as the students take greater control over their own learning.
Entry into our 1:1 iPad scheme facilitates this process, providing the opportunity for the students to use their devices across the curriculum to both enhance learning and inspire creativity.
As explained on the Y3 introduction page, iPads are never used as direct substitution tools at Harrow Bangkok. Handwriting and reading from real books remain as important as ever so you won't find Harrow students using an iPad to simply type up work.
Rather, the device become a powerful tool for learning, guided by skilled practitioners who receive regular Apple training.
Bringing virtual art galleries, coral reefs and unsual artefacts into the form room via augmented reality, turning fruits into piano keys to demonstrate electrical circuits, making interactive stories with recorded narratives, using GreenScreen to create news reports; all of these have been possible and more due to the effective and creative use of the iPad as a tool for teaching and learning.
