iPad Setup

Week Commencing 8th June

During the week commencing 8th June 2026, you will be invited in to collect/drop off your device during a morning session at the SPVi Service Centre. Over the course of the day, the device will be added by our staff to our school's management system and then you will be invited in again at the end of the school day to set up the iPad safely using the Family Sharing method. At this time, we will also guide you through the parental controls including Screentime settings. You will need to bring your own device and a credit card for authorisation purposes (no money will be taken).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

If you are bringing in a new iPad purchased independently, do not set up the Apple ID or the device cannot be added to the MDM system. We will help you to do this upon pick-up of the device.

If you are bringing in a previously owned iPad, the device will need to be restored to factory settings in order for the MDM system to be added. Please do not set up an Apple ID or we will not be able to add it to the system. We will help you to do this upon pick-up of the device.

Unfortunately, we have experienced several problems related to parents setting up iPads with Apple IDs created in China. This has prevented students from using many apps that require signing in with Google. Additionally, linking payment methods, such as Alipay, to Apple IDs has caused significant issues.

We therefore require parents to create an Apple ID for their child in Thailand, ideally using the Family Sharing method and/or setting up appropriate parental controls. We also require parents to ensure that the bank account linked to the Apple ID is not based in China or connected to Alipay.
