7443 JAG-WIRES!!!

We are Overhills High School's Robotics team: The Jag-Wires!

5 years ago, Robotics started at our school and it's only grown since. In robotics, we learn many useful lifelong skills that we can use in several different environments and experiences. You will learn skills that can range from using a drill to learning how to communicate with businesses to gain sponsorships.

Our team encapsulates different groups where you can focus on your main interests:

- Marketing

- Social Media

- Designing

Once you get an idea of what you’re interested in, you can jump straight in and learn through hands-on experience. We have mentors who are eager to help, teach, and guide you through the learning stages.

Once the current season’s challenge/game is revealed, the team will build an entirely new robot from scratch with the purpose of competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). FIRST is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. Through robotics, you will meet and befriend people you likely wouldn't have met otherwise.

A main component of FRC is the Core Values. FRC has a set of values that we live by and they are: Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Fun. Being in robotics has brought many people out of their shells in more ways than we can count. Robotics allows people to express themselves in a judgment-free way. A big part of FRC is the competition. During Competition Season, you will see the core values on full display. Even though it is a competition everyone is kind and displays a level of respect that will leave you rooting for their team as well.

As part of the Jag-Wires, you will always have a place to be yourself. If any of this interests you be sure to stop by after school at room C120 Tuesday-Thursday to become a part of the team!
