VISITORS

All visitors must report to the school office. No visitors shall enter the campus without clearing our background check system called CAAP (Campus Activity Access Program). In order to be allowed on campus under the CAAP system you are attesting that you comply with all of the requirements of the Jessica Lunsford Act.

CAAP Access Program

To provide you and your children a more secure environment, we use our Campus Activity Access Program (CAAP). CAAP is the method for you to gain access to many of the events and activities on and off campus as well as field trips. Under COVID-19 protocols many of the on campus events will be limited to on campus students, faculty and staff.

Go to our main website under Parent Resources to fill out the CAAP form.

This information will be used to issue you a CAAP ID Card so that you can attend field trips, on-campus small group events like chapels, eating lunch with your student, classroom parties, and any other on-campus event or activity requiring clearance. Campus open events like the Fall Festival do not require this form and do not need an ID Card for you to participate.

The information you provide is used to search your name in databases like the Florida Department of Law Enfrocement Sexual Offenders and Predators Database and the National Department of Justice Sex Offender Database.

The CAAP ID card is issued through the front office.

You can go to the school calendar in Alma, and it denotes which events are "open" and which events require "clearance" to participate in. (Alma is our student information system, and you have been issued an account login into it.

If you want to volunteer (that makes us happy because we need volunteers) then a more thorough background check is required. Go to our main website under Parent Resources to fill out our volunteer staff form so that you can get a Level 2 background check as required by Florida Law. Copy and paste the link into your browser. Volunteer positions are very close to staff positions and do expect you to take on responsibilities of a set schedule and a set description of work performed. In order to be a volunteer under this program on campus you are attesting that you comply with all of the requirements of the Jessica Lunsford Act.

SIGNING/CHECKING IN AND OUT

If parents are picking up their children early they must check them out at the front office.

A student must have permission from his/her parents and the administration to leave campus during school hours.

If the student is a student driver, the student must check in or out in person at the front office when they leave or when they arrive.

No child will be released to an adult without proper identification unless they are 18 years old or greater (refer to the Release of Students section for more information). Some other specific information regarding student driving is as follows:

Do I need permission to drive to and from school before and after school? No. If you are a licensed driver you can drive your own car on campus.

Can I drive off campus for lunch? Only Seniors are allowed to drive off-campus for lunch and they can only drive themselves. They cannot drive other Seniors and they cannot drive any other students off-campus for or during lunch.

If school is over can I go home with another student driver? Only if your parent has indicated that person as an approved “pick up” person for you in Alma. Conversely, you cannot take another student off-campus after school is out unless you are indicated in that student’s pick-up profile as being an approved pick-up person by their parents.

Can I drive myself to an off-campus school event? If the event is after school or before school then you can drive yourself only to and from an event. If the event is during school hours, only Seniors can drive themselves. They cannot drive other Seniors and they cannot drive any other students.
